Strategy

 

Introduction

  • The strategy of Bifröst University for 2008-2012, as outlined below, is based on the work of the Board of Directors and management of Bifröst University.
  • Bifröst University is a private, non-profit organisation with an independent Board of Directors which is composed of representatives of the business sector and the University’s Alumni Association, in addition to representatives of the University Council.

 

Vision

To continue to educate leaders for the business sector and society as a whole.

 

Role

  • To prepare students for positions of responsibility, leadership and management at the national and international level with well-rounded academic training in the field of social sciences.
  • To strengthen the Icelandic economy through quality education and dynamic research activities.
  • To build a society with good living conditions for all and an emphasis on human dignity and an environment that is conducive to human development.

 

Objectives

  • To build a solid international university with a strong network of links with other universities, professionals, the business sector and society.
  • To develop vigorous research in the field of social sciences, focusing on the Icelandic and international economic and business sector.
  • To strengthen students’ initiative, adaptability and flexibility, and to enhance their decision-making and leadership skills.
  • To produce graduates who possess the knowledge and training required to take on real-life problems, and who possess an international vision, good collaborative and communication skills and a creative and critical mindset.
  • To take advantage of Bifröst University’s unique position to build an environmentally sound community.
  • To further strengthen Bifröst University’s unique position as a family-friendly university village with short lines of communications and good basic services.
